Random things I like

THE ROOM AND LARGE PAINTING

I love the asymmetry and the prominence of the painting in this room by Thomas Jayne, via The New York Times.
A low-budget way to get a large painting is a website called rasterbator which takes images, allows you to crop and size them, then rasterizes them in monochrome or colour, and then gives you the image in multiple page pdf format. you can then print and put it on your wall as you see fit. site: http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/

I can do this if my tapestry is not a good fit for the living room.
OR...The photos can be enlarged by Duggal Visual Solutions at 29 W. 23rd St. Make sure you get a UV protection if you don't plan on framing with glass.

THE HIDDEN OFFICE

Cannot guess at the quality, but the Verona Cabinet Desk from WorldMarket.com is $250.

FURNITURE ARRANGEMENT

Steven Shubel is one of my favorite designers.
I cannot have white or light colors in my apartment, else I'd love this.
The way he arranged the furniture here is very good and may work in my living room.
