K.: Can I do something like this with the glass table in my living room and the antique Mexican mirror? Instead of the Buddha head, I'd use a santo. What do you think? Overall, I want the tableau to have a Mexican feeling to it.

Yes, I think it's a good idea. Use a couple of cubes under the table to pull up as dining room chairs. I'm not sure about the fan yet.
Also, still not sure what to do about your Park Avenue French mouldings. You're right: on examining the pictures I took, they are not well proportioned and the ridge under the ceiling is making your room seem lower than it is.
